Koskö: Book Design & Swedish Typesetting

The town council of the small village of Koskö, a Swedish-speaking settlement in Finland decided to make a book about the culture and history of their town. I had the honor to help. I worked closely with the lead contact of the book editors as I designed the book to match the concepts the editor and the team thought of. Written in Swedish, the typesetting itself wasn’t a problem, but it did require a good deal of editing as the team rewrote certain passages. The book contains all kinds of historic photos and images contributed by the community – so of them needed a great deal of clean up from blemishes and scratches with Photoshop, while for others I made them into cut-outs for text to wrap around. I used InDesign for page design and layout.
